Mekong River is home to fishing
In Cambodia, you find upper Mekong , and lower Mekong river. Various fish migrate from upper river stream down to the center of the river. If your holiday in South East Asia, there should not be no reasons to not come and pay Cambodia a visit. Snake head fish, cat fish, and many other river fish can be found here at either upper and lower Mekong river. You can visit some villages along the river , and talk to some fish men to find out more what fish they catch every day. Some may has high value in the market and some may have less value. The ones with low value, farmers normally ferment fish for later consumption.
Fishing Ideas
Well, I am not an expert on fishing. However, I should be able , at least , give you some ideas of what baits should be the most attractive to river fish in Mekong rivers. One of them is earth worms. Unfortunately , in dry season, it is that easy to find them. You have to find wet areas where the soil is more organic , and where dead leaves are present. Normally, that is where worms live. Go and dig out and catch them for they are the river fish’s favorite.
Another type of bait, I suggest snail. You should be able to get them so cheap in a flea market. You can get a bunch of them , break the shell, and get them ready for your amazing fun , hobby time, fishing at Mekong river.
